- A.17 A suitable hydraulic fluid (hydraulic oil or fresh water containing a lubricant) should be used as the closing unit control operating fluid. Sufficient volume of glycol must be added to any closing unit fluid containing water if ambient temperatures below 32 F are anticipated. The use of diesel oil, kerosene, motor oil, chain oil. or any other similar fluid is not recommended due to the possibility of resilient seal damage.
- A.18 Each closing unit should have a fluid reservoir with a capacity equal to at least twice the usable fluid capacity of the accumulator system.
